On 23 November Redgate Capital’s partner Valeria Kiisk participated in a policy session on Investment Readiness within the SME Assembly, organized by the European Commission in Tallinn. The main goal of the session was to discuss the methods that need to be implemented to reform the EU’s capital markets and improve access to finance for European SMEs. Valeria’s main message on the session was that the level of SMEs’ financial literacy should be boosted – improving their knowledge of the various financing options as well as the different expectations that various financiers have towards the companies they finance. Currently, policy endeavours on the matter remain fragmented and do not capture the whole financing cycle available – reforming this could be a solid boost for SMEs.
