Investment banking company Redgate Capital, established in 2008, received an investment firm license from the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority. The license grants Redgate Capital right to arrange share and bond issues in form of public and private placement.
Aare Tammemäe, partner with Redgate Capital, explained that previously the company could offer financial advise to its clients, but can assume a more responsible role now, offering full service in capital raising. „The last public offers of bonds were made by banks such as Inbank and LHV. For many companies, retaining a bank was the only option to conduct a public placement of shares or bonds, because there were no independent investment firms. Now we can offer a full service related to security issues to all companies, who wish to raise funds on the Baltic capital markets“ he said.
Investment firm license allows Redgate Capital to arrange security issues and offerings as well as to accept and transfer client orders. Going for a license imposed various risk reducing mechanisms on Redgate Capital, such as increased capital requirements and obligation to meet various prudency indicators. „We do not accept any compromise on transparency and reliability. We have regular reporting and disclosure obligations“ said Tammemäe.
