Issue of government bonds (Äripäev, in Estonian)

Estonia is applying for a five year loan from the European Investment Bank in the amount of 8,6 billion kroons. The EIB’s answer is expected in June, and because nobody knows about the conditions of that loan, the Ministry of Finance should prepare an alternative – the financial newspaper Äripäev recommends the issue of government bonds.

At a conference organized by the Estonian Employers Confederation, Redgate Capital’s Senior Partner Veikko Maripuu said that the money will take time before reaching Estonia. Investors only dare to put their money into a few selected areas – one of those being government bonds.
